INFANT CPR CLASSES
BOOK A CLASSInfant CPR Classes in Denver & Boulder
The 2025 AHA Guidelines brought significant changes to infant CPR — most notably, the elimination of the two-finger compression technique that had been taught for decades. At CPR-Professionals, our courses teach the updated methods so you're learning the most current, evidence-based techniques for saving an infant's life.
The new standard for infant chest compressions is the 1-hand technique or the 2-thumb encircling hands technique. Research showed these methods generate more consistent compression depth, better blood flow, and less rescuer fatigue than the old two-finger approach. If you were trained before 2025, the infant CPR you learned is now outdated — recertification with the new techniques is critical.
Infant cardiac arrest is most commonly caused by respiratory failure — choking, drowning, severe infections, or SIDS. That's why our infant CPR training emphasizes both compressions and rescue breathing, with particular attention to gentle ventilation techniques appropriate for tiny airways. You'll also learn the updated choking protocol: 5 back blows followed by 5 chest thrusts (not abdominal thrusts for infants).
Our Heartsaver CPR/AED and BLS Provider courses both include comprehensive infant CPR modules. Whether you're a new parent, a daycare provider, a nanny, a pediatric nurse, or a babysitter, our training gives you the skills and confidence to respond in the most frightening emergencies. Classes are available in Denver and Boulder.
