    Welcome to CPR-Professionals LLC - your pathway to becoming an American Heart Association certified instructor. Whether you want to teach BLS for Healthcare Providers, Heartsaver CPR/AED, or First Aid, our instructor training program will prepare you with the skills and confidence to lead your own classes.

    Before beginning instructor training, you'll need to complete the AHA's online Essentials Instructor Course specific to the discipline you want to teach. This self-paced online course covers AHA teaching methodology, class management, and student evaluation techniques.

    You'll also need a current provider-level certification in the discipline you wish to teach. For BLS instructors, a minimum 2-year medical/healthcare background and a current BLS Provider certification are required.

    What's instructor training like?

    You must hold a current provider-level certification before beginning instructor training. Training focuses on facilitation skills, not medical expertise.

    Mannequins, classroom videos, student manuals, certification cards and other teaching supplies are NOT INCLUDED in the cost of Instructor training.

    Your 3-Step Instructor Training Pathway

    Before your in-person training, you must complete the AHA's Essentials Instructor Course online. This self-paced course covers AHA teaching methodology, class structure, student evaluation, and administrative requirements.

    Cost is paid directly to the AHA.

    You will need the BLS Instructor Manual from the AHA. This manual is required for your in-person training and will serve as your reference guide when teaching classes.

    Once you've completed the online Essentials course, contact CPR Professionals to schedule your New Instructor Orientation and monitored teaching session. This is a hands-on training where you'll learn to teach CPR classes under the guidance of an experienced instructor.

    The First Step of Instructor Training is the Online Essentials Instructor Course

    Before scheduling your in-person orientation, you must complete the AHA Essentials Instructor Course online. This self-paced course covers teaching methodology, class structure, student evaluation, and AHA administrative requirements.

    After completing the Essentials course, contact us to schedule your in-person orientation where we'll review your responsibilities, introduce you to our Training Center processes, and begin preparing you for your first monitored class.

    Prerequisites:

    • Heartsaver Instructor: Must hold a current provider-level certification (Heartsaver CPR/AED or higher).
    • BLS Instructor: Must have a minimum 2-year medical/healthcare background AND a current BLS Provider certification.
