    Complete Cost Breakdown

    BLS Provider Certification: $75 + eBook (~$20-25)
You must hold a current provider-level certification before entering the instructor pathway. If you are not already certified, this is your first step.

    AHA Instructor Essentials Course: ~$38
This online, self-paced course covers teaching methodology and AHA instructor policies. Purchased directly through AHA.

Instructor Course at a Training Center: $300
At CPR-Professionals, the in-person instructor course is $300. This covers the classroom instruction, practice teaching, and assessment. It does not include the Essentials course or the instructor manual.

    Instructor Manual: ~$25-40
BLS instructor candidates need the AHA BLS Instructor Manual eBook. Heartsaver instructor candidates need the corresponding Heartsaver Instructor Manual. Purchased through AHA's ShopCPR.

    Total Investment: ~$438-$453

What Is NOT Included in the Instructor Training Cost

Mannequins, classroom videos, student manuals, certification cards, and other teaching supplies are not included in the cost of instructor training. These are provided by the training center you align with for actual course delivery.

When you teach under a training center like CPR-Professionals, the center provides all necessary equipment and materials for the classes you are assigned to teach.

Is the Investment Worth the Return?

CPR instructors are compensated for classes taught, with rates varying by training center and geographic market. Many instructors teach 2 to 4 classes per month alongside their primary career. The combination of supplemental income, community impact, and professional development makes it a worthwhile investment for the right candidate.
